What does "member in good standing" mean?

Good standing means your assessments are paid. The By-Laws define it as having no past-due annual or special assessments on **any** lot you own.

That last part matters. If you own more than one lot, every lot has to be paid in full. The Rules & Regulations state this directly. Being current on one lot and behind on another does not make you a member in good standing.

Good standing is what unlocks nearly everything:

- Use and enjoyment of the common properties and facilities
- Voting
- Being appointed to a committee or nominated for the Board
- Getting identification cards and guest passes — the Rules & Regulations say none are issued to a member who is not in good standing
- Reserving a cabin, a campsite, the lodge, a dock slip, etc.

The By-Laws also tie good standing to conduct. Your rights are subject to reasonable standards of conduct that the Board sets from time to time, and you are responsible for your guests following the rules as well.

Two things worth being clear about. Losing good standing does not mean you stop being a member — you still own the lot, and you are still a member. It means the rights that come with membership are suspended. And there is no separate application to get back to good standing. When the past due amount is paid, the status returns on its own.
