Can I breed or board animals on my lot?

**No.** Two covenant provisions catch this, and the Township adds a third layer.

**The pets exception has a limit built in.** Household pets may be kept **provided they are not kept, bred or maintained for any commercial purposes**. Breeding for sale falls outside the exception.

**The business restriction applies too.** Lots are for residential purposes only, and no business, commercial or manufacturing enterprise may be conducted on them. The Board's July 2025 commercial use guidance confirms that all commercial use of residential property at Lake of the Pines is prohibited, and reports counsel's advice that any business selling a product or providing a service for profit falls within the restriction. Breeding or boarding for money is such a business.

**Boarding is a kennel question as well.** The Township defines a kennel as any premises where more than three dogs or other domesticated animals six months or older are kept — **permanently or temporarily**. Temporary boarding is expressly included. And no kennel may be sited within 100 feet of a Residential District.

**What about looking after a friend's dog?** The documents address commercial operations. A favour for a neighbour is not a business. But if money changes hands, or it becomes regular, the answer changes — and that is a conversation for the office before it starts, not after.
